Medication reviews

What is a MedsCheck, and do I qualify?

A free one-on-one review of all your medications. Who qualifies in Ontario and what to bring.

A MedsCheck is a one-on-one appointment with a pharmacist to go through every medication you take, including vitamins, supplements and over-the-counter products. The goal is simple: make sure everything works well together and that you know what each one is for.

Who qualifies

Through the Ontario government's MedsCheck program, you may qualify for a free review once a year if you live in Ontario, have a valid health card and take three or more prescription medications for ongoing conditions. There are also MedsCheck reviews for people living with diabetes and for people who can't easily get to a pharmacy. Ask us and we'll check what you're eligible for.

What happens during a MedsCheck

  • We review each medication: what it's for, how and when to take it
  • We look for interactions, duplicates or side effects
  • You get an up-to-date medication list to keep and share with your doctor

What to bring

  • All your medications, including vitamins and anything over the counter
  • Your health card
  • Any questions you've been meaning to ask

It usually takes 20 to 30 minutes. Book a MedsCheck or text 647-806-3784.
